Narrowboat owners come with varying levels of experience - many have been narrowboating for years, whilst some buy a
boat first and then discover the joys of cruising the canals. Whatever your experience, if you want a bespoke narrowboat
then you will have your own ideas that you wish to incorporate. Our job is to to take your dreams and ideas and turn
them into reality and to produce a boat that reflects your individual wishes within your budget.

is designed to take you through some of the thought processes that we went through during the design of our demonstration
boat "The Laughing Cavalier". These pages show just some of the the improvements that we have made to the conventional
design of a narrowboat including the most important one which is the use of hydraulics for the propulsion system. The
reasoning for opting for this system is explained fully elsewhere in the site.
